Boodle Mission
Dear Fellow West Point Supporters,
Two years ago, the WPPC assembled at the Bowling home with the dual mission of mailing morale boxes to our deployed graduates and having fun. After consuming many delicious plates of appetizers, several containers of refreshment, and exchanging a Division’s worth of “war” stories I can say with great certainty we accomplished the second part of our mission. The following Monday I visited the local Post Office with 49 boxes for our deployed soldiers, so I would say we met the requirements of the first half of our mission also.
So why are you reading about our past exploits? Because, it is time to rally our team again for a repeat performance!
We have many deployed Grads and numerous soldier friends deployed in the Global War on Terrorism. They appreciate our recognition of their sacrifice. One good way to demonstrate our unyielding support of these defenders of our freedom is to send them a little taste of home. So dig deep and bring lots of morale boosters for our deployed soldiers. Load up you truck, trailer, or whatever can get you to our house and assemble on February 27th for our next Morale support mission! Be there or send all your money – we can use this for postage!
This packing party is open to all in the Army family. It is a great time for Cadet parents to connect with Grad parents and for Old Grads to connect with the parents of the newer members of the Long Gray Line. We can learn about Cadet antics, what some of the grads are doing, and just have some great fun catching up with each other.
If your son or daughter is deployed or if you know anyone deployed, please bring or send us their address. Also, do you know of something our soldiers need at a particular post? If so, send that info to us in advance. We collected many hundreds of dollars at the WPSNE Army-Navy Game in December, and it would be great to spend it on something the soldiers really need.
